  • Boot Camp Premiere Beats West Wing Repeat, wins Timeslot

    March 30, 2001
"Fox reality series Boot Camp notched an impressive first place 10.8/16 in the 9 p.m. hour - 11 percent above a repeat of NBC's The West Wing (9.7/14) and 89 percent above lead-in Grounded for Life (5.9/ 9). Of positive note was growth of 4 percent in the second half-hour (10.6/16 to 11.0/16)."
  • Taheed & Ytossie Sue 'Temptation Island' Producers

    March 29, 2001
Geez, won't these two go away... Stacey wanna-be's...

"Ytossie Patterson and Taheed Watson claim defamation of character. They want unspecified punitive and compensatory damages. Patterson and Watson were kicked off when it was revealed they had a two-year-old child -- a fact they allegedly hid from producers."

"But the couple claim producers always knew they had a child --but decided it would boost ratings if the fact was revealed during an episode. They also claim an episode in which producers chastised the two for the alleged revelations was 'condescending and humiliating.'"

...humiliated??? ...what did these two expect?"

  • Rumors Of Survivor Sex Video Surfacing...

    March 22, 2001
Personally, we don't believe it, but the rumor is apparently making it's way around the country, via gossip "reporters" (we only wonder how long before our own local gossip column prints it) and radio personalities, so in the interest of keeping fans in the loop, we'll just pass along the media report...

The rumor is that Colby and Jerri (much like last season's Greg and Colleen rumor) at some point engaged in some, um, interesting activities during their Outback stay and it was partially captured on tape. The bootlegs of the footage is supposedly making it's way around Hollywood as we speak. Hey, who knows, after Tommy and Pamela Lee, I guess anything is possible...

  • FOX Orders Up 'Temptation Island 2'

    March 2, 2001
Following great ratings for last night's finale, FOX announced Thursday it will be trying to tear apart more couples with a second season of "Temptation Island." (surprise, surprise, big shocker here)

"'Temptation Island has proven to be compelling television," says Gail Berman, FOX's president of entertainment. "We're pleased it's such a hit with our viewers, and we're scouting locations for the next adventure."

So far, no location, production schedule or possible premiere date has been set.

In a Wednesday conference to discuss the network's performance during the important February "sweeps" period, Fox Television Entertainment Group Chairman Sandy Grushow acknowledged that some advertisers were "squeamish" about buying time on "Temptation Island" due to the show's suggestive content.

"It's been a challenge in the marketplace, as it often is when you push the envelope with content," he said, "We went through this with 'Married ... With Children' 13 years ago." But he dismissed the notion that "Temptation Island" contradicted the network's policy of abandoning exploitative "shockumentaries" that once served as a Fox programming staple. "I don't consider this to be shockumentary programming," he said. "We work in a very dynamic business. Times change."
